"Charming for its expansive mix of supple flavors, with raspberry, cherry, tar and loamy earth notes. Softens and fades on the finish, but there's much to like throughout. Drink now through 2022. 11,500 cases made."

"The pretty cherry and blackberry fruit is lined with a lightly chalky spine, black tea and singed cinnamon notes. A minerally edge appears on the finish."

"It displays distinct regional character with layered aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries preserves, and hints of vanilla toffee and toasted oak that extend to the palate. Rich, dark red berry fruit, juicy plum and cranberry flavors are accented with spice notes and a touch of sweet tobacco and smoky earth. This is an elegant, velvety textured Pinot, yet bright, balanced, and altogether delicious."

"The nose opens with spicy black cherry and earth with cedar and blackberry. These notes continue on to the mouth with spice and jammy black cherry with toasty oak and bramble."

"Vibrant rose-salmon color. Pronounced aromas of ripe strawberry and green apple are supported by an undertone of light oak. The flavors are lively with cranberry and citrus zest notes. The full, lush mouthfeel is balanced by a brisk acidity and mineral elements, leading to a long-lasting finish."

"In re-tasting the 2010 Basalt Block alongside its 2011 counterpart, I was struck by the hints of game and tobacco that were emerging on top of characteristics noted in my Issue 202 report, as well as by a slightly more pliable feel to its tannins than before; but Brittan’s 2010 Pinot Noir Gestalt Block had now clearly pulled away from its immediate sibling in clarity and complexity, with a floral dimension suggestive of wisteria and buddleia alluringly emerging inner-mouth amid crunchy black raspberry as well as on the nose; and the savory mineral salts to which I drew notice last time now leading to an even juicier, more mouthwatering, but no less ineradicable or invigorating finish. I continue to anticipate this showing well through at least 2022. "

"Dark garnet color, moderate tannins and alcohol with complex fruit and earth characters showcase this wine as classic Oregon Pinot Noir. Dark cherry and bright raspberry fruit is balanced with subtle earth all accented with elegant rose. A full body framed with medium tannins and clean acid leads to a medium-long finish full of tart cherry and hints of toasted oak."
