"A voluptuous and expressive sparkler, with floral red apple, brioche and cinnamon spice aromas and rich, vibrant flavors that finish on a luxurious note. Drink now through 2018."

"A smooth, seamless version, this red evokes blackberry, plum and pomegranate fruit, backed by vibrant acidity. Elegant, lingering nicely on the saturated finish, where a touch of graphite emerges. Drink now through 2023. 1,500 cases made."

"Bringing together multiple sites in one wine, this provides a fine example of the sum equalling more than the parts. Well balanced and crafted, it offers aromas of sandalwood and smoked meat that contrast with more exuberant, textured layers of black cherry and citrus peel."

"The 2014 Treana Cabernet Sauvignon has a ruby black core with a ruby rim. Aromas of deep black fruits like boysenberry and blackberry, along with red fruit notes of pomegranate and red currant are complemented with mulling spices, star anise, clove and sweet vanilla. On the palate, intense ripe fruit notes of black currant, blackberry, red cherry along with notes of tobacco leaf, roasted coffee, cocoa powder lead to a long oak-driven finish. Tannins are velvety and plush while the acidity makes the fruit vibrant, but well integrated."

" This well-made wine, blended with small percentages of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Merlot, is an astounding value. Currant and cranberry notes and an underbelly of tannins play together in a smooth texture of rich concentration."

"This is what Russian River Zinfandel is all about. Rich, dynamic and layered, with complex fruit, offering notes of jammy black raspberry, stony mineral, herbes de Provence and licorice. The finish unfurls at length. Drink now through 2026. 1,700 cases made."

"Bright golden-tinged yellow. The amazingly floral nose is very Pfersigberg (roses, lavender, lemon verbena) but also offers more common nuances of lychee, orange oil, tangerine liqueur and smoke. Then rich and round with ripe mango, cinnamon and clove flavors that last. The finish is juicy and tactile. Made from grapes grown in the heart of the Pfersigberg grand cru, in the Pfirstigberg lieu-dit. I was blown away by this highly perfumed, precise wine, which is nothing like the majority of rather disappointing Gewürzes from 2014, when Drosophila wreaked havoc on red-berried varieties. The back label states medium-sweet, but this has lively acidity so it comes across as just off-dry. "

"Scented notes of Golden Pearmain apple fill the nose. The palate follows in the same mellow vein while the creamy mousse accents the richness with pure lemon freshness. Shortcrust and biscuit flavours act as an aromatic backdrop. What a rounded, fresh and superbly balanced Crémant! Savor it long after the last sip has gone."

"The Daou brothers have become increasingly known for their rich, unctuous and lavish high-end wines, but this bottling offers a taste of that opulence for just $30. Plump blueberry and soft, cedar-like spice scents show on the nose, while the palate bursts with black cherry, dark chocolate and caramel flavors, powered by ample acidity. It will age gracefully, but is already delicious."

"This is a brilliant wine from Hobbs. There is a little Merlot and Cabernet Franc in the blend, but it reflects this great vintage, revealing blueberry, blackberry and cassis as well as some licorice, incense, and forest floor. The wine has full-bodied opulence, a sumptuous mouthfeel, and is just a terrific, savory, expansive Cabernet Sauvignon that should drink well for 15 or more years."
